HAUNTINGS of SANTA CRUZ COUNTY

Welcome to your paranormal portal of some of Santa Cruz Counties most well known haunted locations.

In this segment we share with you historic events which have left behind an everlasting energy in the locations which they have occurred.  The energies which have been imprinted upon the land or the buildings that they affect are either residual in nature and act as a loop, constantly replaying a familiar scenario.

Or in some cases, the events or energies imprinted upon the area can manifest as an intelligent entity, where the dead are able to interact with the living –

In either scenario a location can be deemed as haunted, should the occurrence become active enough that even the living become aware or affected by the invasive presence.

In most cases, a potential haunting may go unnoticed by its living host, explained away by simplicities or innate occurrences, this type of haunting is usually residual and benign in nature. However, in many intelligent hauntings the living host is likely unwittingly and of a sensitive character, and maybe afflicted in ways which can cause physical ailments such as extreme headaches, vivid dreams, nausea, auditory and visual hallucinations and more.

The living host, often will feel as if they are going crazy, household objects may move or suddenly fall, electrical outages or flickering is often present, pets often react to things that are not visual to the naked eye, strange noises or footsteps can be heard, unusual cold spots, the sensation of being touched, the bed shaking or shadows which seem to dart back and forth. All of these can be a sign of an intelligent haunting or other paranormal event, trying to seek the attention of the living. In cases such as this, it is recommended to seek out professional paranormal investigators, to assist you in either debunking or validating said experiences.

In this HAUNTED segment, we share with you many locations which have become legendary in Santa Cruz County for having haunting behaviors ,  We further explore the past and share with you eye witness testimony documented as early as 1893, posted in the Santa Cruz Sentinel, of ghostly apparitions – so that you maybe the judge and answer the question ` Is it a ghost or a ghost story?

For additional haunted tales and locations not featured in this portal, we highly recommend you attain a copy of Haunted Santa Cruz California, written by Maryanne Porter, available at Arcadia Publishing, Amazon,  Barnes and Noble, Costco in Santa Cruz, Book Shop Santa Cruz, and other participating retailers.
